I like statistics. In fact, I LOVE statistics. For such a simple slow cooker recipe website, the amount of ways I can slice and dice the data we have on our lovely recipes (and visitors!) is pretty awesome to play around with! Geek heaven.
More interesting information for you guys though, are the recipes that received the most hits over the year. We're counting pure page views, not things like social sharing. So, with that in mind, let's get to the interesting stuff.
We're constantly excited by the inventive ways that people use their slow cookers. When we heard that people were making drinks in them we thought "that's pretty cool..." When we heard that people were making alcoholic slow cooker drinks, we thought "HELL YEAH!" Now don't get us wrong - we love the classic slow cooker recipes, but cracking out the slow cooker and filling it with something that's guaranteed to get the party started? Can't think of anything better, personally!
We're super excited to announce that we've partnered with the awesome guys over at Whisk! Whisk is a smart shopping list tool that helps people around the world discover, organise and enjoy recipes and food. Whisk displays an “Add to shopping list“ button alongside the recipes on SlowCookerClub that allows you to quickly create a shopping list from any recipe. Once the ingredients are in your shopping list, you can then view them via the Whisk mobile application (think: walking around your local supermarket), or check out seamlessly using Ocado, Asda, Tesco and Waitrose.
Slow Cooking is one of those things that seems like an odd idea until you've given it a go. If you work full time, getting up earlier than usual during the winter months (or summer with the right recipe!) just to prepare your dinner in a slightly different way seems like lunacy, at best.
Picture the scene - stood in the kitchen in my pants chopping up veg whilst my wife is still in bed, whilst simultaneously getting the kettle on the go so that we've got a decent cup of tea to start the day - glamorous it isn't, but, believe it or not - oh so worth it. Actually, I'd quite like to think I do look glamorous, perhaps some sort of sexy boxer-shorted model seductively chopping up some veg in preparation for his romantic dinner in the evening....In fact, scrap that. It's not glamorous.
