Shirley's Slow Cooker Chicken

Great chicken recipe that can be tweaked to taste!

Serves:
4 (depends on size of chicken)

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • Streaky bacon
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • White wine
  • Salt and pepper

 

Preparation

Rinse chicken and place in crockpot. Peel as much garlic as suits your taste and throw it in. Peel and quarter as many onions as you fancy and put them in the pot. Season the chicken with black pepper and salt if desired. Cover chicken with streaky bacon. Add a glass or two of white wine.

Cook on high for around an hour then low for 4-6 hours. Remove the bacon an hour or so before serving (if you are at home - if not, don't worry) The chicken will fall off the bones!

Notes

Serve with rice, potatoes, couscous or crusty bread with your choice of steamed fresh vegetables.

Number of servings depends on how big a bird you can fit in your cooker.
