Slow Cooker Cranberry Sauce

Nothing beats home made slow cooker cranberry sauce - once you've made your own you'll never buy it again!

Ingredients

  • 350g fresh cranberries
  • 150ml orange juice
  • 75ml water
  • 3 tbsp sugar (add more or less depending on taste)
  • 1.5 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp grated orange zest
  • Pinch of allspice

Method

  1. Combine the orange juice, water, sugar, honey, orange zest and allspice in the slow cooker, then mix in the cranberries. Cook on high for 5 hours (or 8 on low).
  2. We prefer a chunky sauce, but if you prefer it smoother then break down the cranberries with a wooden spoon. Add more sugar if the sauce is too tart for your taste.
  3. If the sauce is too thin, remove the lid and cook on high until it thickens slightly (should take no more than 45 minutes).
  4. Serve warm, and garnish with more orange peel.
