Easy, Creamy and Amazing

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 600g Lean Stewing Beef - Cubed
  • 1 Tin Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 200ml Milk Mushrooms - about 2 large handfuls - thickly sliced
  • 2 Medium Onions - Sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • Seasoning
  • 1 Tub of Garlic & Herb Soft Cheese (Light and Extra Light is fine - I have tried and tested)

Preparation

In the slow cooker put the Beef, Soup, Milk, Mushrooms, Worc Sauce & Seasoning - Stir and cook on low for 8 hours.

Mix in the cream cheese, replace lid and cook on low for a further 30 minutes. Soured Cream can be used for serving.

Notes

Goes great with Rice or Pasta and a green salad. I have not tried this with any other meat, but, one of my friends has done it with Pork instead of Beef and says it works just as well. This is a great comfort food for the famiily, but can also be dressed up for a dinner party.

Tried this recipe, it was beautiful. Will do it next time but try pork, think it may be a better meat to go with the sauce.

I bought a cheap joint of beef from one of the supermarkets (£4.99). chopped two onions up & added two cups of water. cooked the beef for nine hours on low. the best beef I have ever had!
